A Component Analysis of Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment for Depression
This article seeks to identify which of the three aspects of Aaron Becks model of cognitive-behavioral therapy are most critical to improvement in and/or recovery from major depression. The three areas of treatment focus that were compared include focus on observable behavior, dysfunctional automatic thinking and more stable cognitive schemas. It was written as part of a memorial edition for Neil S. Jacobson. Two commentaries are included.
