Adolescence Part C

Colin Pereira Webber, M.A. "Parent Loss in Adolescence" describes the coping styles of children who have a lost a parent, the difference between adjustment and internal processing, the challenges faced by adolescents dealing with the death of a parent due to their stage of development, and the defense mechanisms most likely to be used by a bereaved adolescent to protect against marcissistic injury.

Dr. Wexler discusses his "freeze frame" technique in working with adolescents, and how this strategy can be used to short circuit the behavioral pattern when the trigger for a behavioral pattern is encountered. He also addresses the comments of his critics.
